How to Use the PowerPack
Step 1. Build a solid understanding of how to solve exam problems
- Our PDF contains the core problems with step-by-step detailed solutions
Step 2. Drill to crush problems on exam day
- Use our web-based templates to generate an infinite number of problems
- With practice, you'll become more efficient and accurate on exam day
Step 3. Practice in an Excel/CBT like environment
- These are Excel files of the PDFs contained within the wiki articles.
Step 4. More Practice
- Past exams and original practice exam are available with quick and easy access at your fingertips
Step 1: Step-By-Step Solutions
Our PDF contains the core problems and detailed step-by-step solutions in this file.
Step 2: Drill Web-Based Template Problems
After practicing problems for a while, you can find yourself memorizing the numbers rather than understanding the steps. You'll gain a better understanding of the underlying concepts by applying them to different scenarios.
Download the Excel file below to use with the web-based templates. In your browser, navigate to the web-based template you want to study and then open the Excel file to the same problem. Highlight the problem in your browser and copy it before pasting using "Match Destination Formatting" into the highlighted cell within the spreadsheet. Voila! You can now solve the new version of the problem in Excel and then type your answer(s) into the browser to grade it. Repeat as many times as you want to practice the problem.

Step 3: Practice in an Excel/CBT Environment
These are Excel files of the PDFs contained within the wiki articles. You may find it helpful to read the solutions in Excel as you read the wiki article so you can audit the formulas to improve your understanding. Later, you can review the material by using the problem only version to build familiarity with the material in Excel.
Problem set 1 contains all of the initial PDFs you encounter in the wiki articles. Subsequent problem sets contain additional practice problems (same question type, different numbers). Please note not all problems in a first set have additional practice problems.
Step 4: More Practice
To get the most out of these files you should attempt each exam under timed conditions and then grade yourself carefully and harshly. The solutions provided are concise and contain all details; this may be more than needed on the actual exam but will help you understand the problems better. Sometimes the CAS accepts alternate solutions, so make sure you read the examiner's report too - especially if your answer doesn't match. Lastly, the examiner's report is a great source of information about things the CAS didn't award credit for - read these carefully and relate them back to the question to avoid wasting time on BattleDay.
Alice: "I've heard the F2 and F4 keys don't work in the Pearson environment. They do work in our Excel files but you've been warned for BattleDay!" |}
